Debt schedules, period views and timeline

Read balances, summed flows and peak shortfalls correctly when switching financing period views.

Choose the view and summary period

Annual, Quarterly, Monthly and Weekly present the same dated financing calculation. In finer views, select the fiscal year and the Summary period. The selected period controls headline balances and Inspector context; switching views maps the selection to a corresponding period where possible. These are display choices, not competing sources of financing assumptions. Model operating-source granularity remains governed by Model periods.

Use the right aggregation rule

Opening debt comes from the first underlying interval and closing debt/cash/availability from the last. Draws, repayments, amortization, interest and refinancing flows sum over intervals. Funding Need and Required Funding take the maximum shortfall, while minimum-headroom information identifies the weakest observation. Summing monthly Required Funding would count repeated shortages more than once and does not reproduce the annual peak.

Reconcile the debt and liquidity table

Expand Debt & liquidity schedule to follow pre-financing cash, Minimum Cash, opening debt, draws, repayments, closing debt, interest and cash. Amortization is included in repayments. Refinancing fees and equity contributions appear when applicable. The table also exposes drawable facilities, liquidity headroom and peak Required Funding. Values carry the selected monetary unit; selecting an inspectable result preserves its period context.

Read the funding timeline

The timeline combines each facility’s available date span with drawn/commitment usage. Draw and repayment markers identify movements; a maturity marker identifies the end date. The Required Funding row flags periods containing a residual gap. Select a facility-period cell to inspect it. The visual is a reading aid over the existing schedule: changing its date range or selected view does not move debt events.

Inspect the date that matters

Facility and loan Inspector views show balances, movements, rates, maturity, comments and utilization. Funding Inspector uses the peak gap interval rather than assuming period-end availability caused the peak. Interest Inspector shows each loan’s contribution. Follow selection updates context; Pin Inspector retains the selected context and recomputes live values. If the pinned source or period disappears, release the pin or choose another source.
