Set up a financing forecast
Activate the operator, select the Model scenario and confirm that forecast periods exist. Enter Minimum Cash, then configure facilities and their loans. Allocate existing opening debt before entering new dated draws. Choose Automatic Funding if eligible commitments should cover shortages, and optionally Auto repay excess cash. Review the three summary cards, the debt schedule and the corresponding cash and interest in the Model.
Opening allocation is existing debt
Opening amounts allocate the linked Model debt at the actual/forecast boundary. They do not create a cash receipt. Total loan allocations cannot exceed that existing debt, and a facility’s opening loans cannot exceed its commitment. Debt not allocated to a facility remains in Linked model debt with its existing movements and interest, but no additional commitment. Use a Draw for a new borrowing requirement; facilities and loans explains the two levels.
One connected financing result
Draws, repayments and dated cash interest feed the same accounting calculation used by the statements, including dependent tax, earnings and cash effects. Recorded actuals remain unchanged. When committed Financing is active, it replaces the legacy hypothetical short-term funding mechanism for the forecast. A shortage after eligible commitments remains visible as Required Funding and may leave cash negative. The Model Cash reference covers the legacy path when this operator is inactive.
Read the selected period
Summary period determines the displayed balance context. Peak Funding Need and Required Funding are peaks inside that period; Available Liquidity is its closing cash plus drawable capacity. Money fields show the active Currency / Unit next to the input. For example, entering 1 beside EURk means EUR 1,000 throughout inputs, schedules and Inspector. Switching the period view changes aggregation rather than creating separate financing assumptions.
Resolve setup problems at their source
Without a forecast, add a forecast period in Model. If an opening allocation is too large, correct the allocation or the actual debt source rather than treating it as new borrowing. If a draw exceeds availability, review commitment, status, start and maturity. An operating assumption that depends on financing-driven cash, debt or earnings can create a circular calculation and is rejected; use an independent operating driver. The engine does not model lender approval or a Credit PIK option.
