Handbook / Credit & Liquidity

Credit & Liquidity

Understand how committed financing, debt capacity, refinancing and operational cash planning connect to the financial model.

Methods and settings

Method / inputBehavior
Financing & Debt ScheduleModel facilities, loans and the funding actually available to the statements.
Debt Capacity & CovenantsAssess financial debt limits and monitor configured tests.
RefinancingReplace existing facility debt and compare the resulting economics.
13-Week Cash FlowBuild a saved operational cash plan using Model sources and independent cash assumptions.

Choose the operator for the question

Use Financing to answer whether committed facilities cover the forecast. Use Debt Capacity & Covenants to ask how much debt the configured financial constraints support and when a test is breached. Refinancing addresses existing maturities and replacement terms. 13-Week Cash Flow addresses the timing of operational receipts and payments. These questions share sources but do not have interchangeable answers.

Activate and connect tools

Open Credit & Liquidity and use Manage tools to activate the required operators. Refinancing needs Financing & Debt Schedule to supply source loans and execute replacement funding. Capacity can calculate Model debt ratios without Financing, but committed availability and linked Minimum Cash require it. A 13W plan also works without committed financing; it then cannot invent facility availability. Deactivating an operator retains its saved assumptions for later use.

Know which assumptions belong where

Financing, Credit rules and Refinancing assumptions belong to the active Model scenario. The three saved 13W plans instead hold shared operational inputs: selecting another scenario changes their linked baseline, not their saved manual payments or overrides. A 13W result may deliberately differ from the statements. It does not automatically write those differences back into revenue, working capital or the main debt forecast.

Keep three financing concepts separate

A commitment describes configured borrowing availability. Analytical capacity describes a financial ceiling under stated assumptions. Required Funding describes an uncovered cash requirement after the admitted funding. None is a lender approval, and Required Funding is not a loan. Start with the liquidity definitions before comparing cards across operators; selected-period balances, within-period peaks and whole-window minima answer different questions.

Publish funding assumptions with their sources

Publish can include selected Credit & Liquidity operators and their explicit required Model/Financing sources. Review confidential facility and refinancing terms. Integrated listed dividends, buybacks and issuance affect statement cash and funding; follow those capital-return assumptions when interpreting risk. Public 13W outputs retain their shared-plan/Base presentation boundary; selecting scenarios does not publish separate copies of manual 13W plans.
