Available modeling methods
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Simple | Global assumptions drive every forecast year; actual values are entered by year. |
| Advanced | Named model items, methods, linked drivers, dated events and period-specific inputs. |
| View | Inspect an Advanced model without editing its financial inputs. |
Start with a model
Create a blank model or use a generated company as an example. Choose a name, functional currency, actual years and forecast years. The annual timeline supports up to 30 periods. Enter opening balances before relying on forecast cash or debt. Generated assumptions illustrate functionality; they are not required business assumptions.
A professional modeling workflow
Build Revenue and Personnel, then connect costs, working capital, investments and financing. Review the three statements before adding scenarios or valuation. Advanced edits to a Simple model can require conversion confirmation; conversion changes the available modeling controls.
Save and retain your work
The browser library holds up to five models. Export a .balancecheat file for a portable backup with model inputs, scenarios and a numeric statement snapshot. Import it through model management. This is browser storage, not a shared cloud account: clearing site data can remove local models.
Documents the current implemented behavior. Example assumptions are not market data.
