Available modeling methods
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Actual boundary | Add an earlier actual year or remove the earliest actual year. |
| Forecast boundary | Add a forecast year or remove the latest forecast year, retaining at least one forecast. |
Annual, ordered periods
A model supports up to 30 annual periods in its supported calendar range. Period controls change only the beginning or end, not arbitrary gaps in the middle. Actual values are direct historical inputs; Advanced forecast methods are configured by year. Adding a forecast does not repeatedly copy one-off transaction assumptions.
Review removal and dependent analysis
Removing a period deletes its entered data after confirmation; undo is available. A scenario reference or What-If targeting a missing year can become unresolved. Valuation selections do not silently move to a different year: update the selected periods when they fall outside the remaining timeline.
Valuation has its own period choices
A model extending to 2040 may use a DCF explicit end of 2037. The visible statement years do not define the DCF horizon. Comparables select a target year; LBO selects independent entry and exit years from the complete available timeline.
