Available modeling methods
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Actual inputs | Supported historical statement values are entered directly by year. |
| Eligible modeled outputs | Direct editing switches that item to its Amount method and records the entered amount. |
| Derived totals | Subtotals and event-adjusted outputs are not universally writable. |
Override the owning input
Use Model to inspect the source before typing over a number. Tax has a tax-amount method and distributions have a distribution-amount method; a percentage is not reinterpreted as currency. Method-specific saved assumptions remain available when switching back. Personnel results containing one-time events may require editing the source inputs instead.
Scenario override versus adjustment
A scenario override changes that scenario’s modeled assumption while preserving Base inheritance elsewhere. An Adjustment instead creates a separately inspectable reported-to-adjusted bridge. A valuation-specific cash or debt override belongs to the EV-equity bridge and does not edit the accounting Balance Sheet.
Documents the current implemented behavior. Example assumptions are not market data.
