Methods and settings
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Before Apply | Opening ledger stays unchanged while active transactions derive closing shares. |
| After Apply | Closing shares, pools and grants become opening; applied steps are locked. |
Review the entire active sequence
The opening Cap Table must reconcile and every active transaction must calculate successfully. Review closing shares in Equity Transactions or ESOP. The review includes all active ready actions in the shared sequence, not only the currently displayed pool or row. Confirm outstanding/FD changes and the holder bridges. Resolve setup errors and inspect any linked pool/funding order before application.
What Apply changes
Apply replaces the opening share ledger with the calculated closing ledger, including pools and grants. Applied steps become inactive and locked so they cannot run twice. Saved historical effects support later inspection. If the Cap Table or transaction configuration changed after review, the application requires a fresh review rather than accepting stale closing shares.
What remains outside this action
Apply does not book company cash into the financial statements, reset the linked equity valuation or apply tax/expense accounting. Funding-round pricing and Cap Table allocation value remain distinct. The data is shared across Model scenarios; applying while viewing one valuation scenario does not create a scenario-specific ownership ledger.
Reverse an application correctly
Undo restores the opening ledger and transaction statuses together. Removing an applied transaction row does not reverse its already applied share changes. It removes the row while the current Cap Table retains the effect. Use Undo for an unintended application, and use a deliberate subsequent transaction when modeling a later economic reversal.
Distinguish Reverse Apply from Apply closing
Reverse Apply Solution writes eligible solved input assumptions. For example, changing a funding-round investment changes its derived closing analysis; it does not commit the round into the opening Cap Table. Apply closing is a separate explicit action. This separation lets Ownership analyses explore dilution without silently executing corporate actions.
