Methods and settings
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Solve | Calculates a candidate without changing financial inputs. |
| Preview | Displays a temporary, read-only candidate model. |
| Apply | Revalidates and applies the supported changes together. |
| Discard / Undo | Discard exits preview; Undo reverses an applied change group. |
Inspect before committing
After solving, review the status, proposed inputs, target result and constraints. Start Preview to inspect the candidate in the connected workspace. The temporary view is read-only so new edits do not become mixed with uncommitted candidate values. Discard returns to the actual model. A closest feasible candidate requires an explicit closest-candidate preview before its corresponding Apply action.
Apply to the owning inputs
Apply checks the current model and source eligibility again. Supported changes are applied together as one undoable financial operation. It does not apply only half a stale solution or silently redirect values to another scenario. Review the active scenario and source ownership before applying. Intermediate annual EBITDA shocks used for downstream analysis are not direct permanent operating inputs.
Respect domain action boundaries
Changing a supported Ownership transaction assumption through Reverse is not the same as applying the transaction closing to the Cap Table. The transaction’s own review and Apply workflow remains separate. Supported 13W applications update the appropriate plan-owned input or operational override, not an unrelated annual Model value. See the domain references before using a cross-domain candidate.
Re-solve after relevant changes
If the model, target context or owning source changes, the old candidate can become stale and Apply is blocked. Re-select or repair unavailable inputs and solve again. Saved Reverse configuration is retained for reuse, but a temporary preview and completed candidate are not a durable transaction record. Export the actual model after an accepted change when a portable backup is needed.
