Methods and settings
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Holders | Named people, entities or aggregate groups with optional type and comment. |
| Securities | Share classes and included dilutive instruments with reported-count controls. |
Create holders and securities
Add a holder and a security/class, expand the holder, then add the security holding and enter units. A holder can own several securities, and a class can have several holders. Available holder categories include Founder/Insider, Employee, Investor, Strategic Holder, Public/Other Shareholders, Company/Treasury and Other; the optional type can describe a grouping. It does not create different payout economics.
Reconcile counts before percentages
Under Securities & treasury, classify each security and review reported issued units and treasury. Blank reported count derives the total from holdings; a supplied count becomes a reconciliation control. Share-count definitions explains outstanding and FD treatment. Resolve allocation and authorized-share warnings before using ownership percentages or values; a reported total does not silently create a missing holder.
Read the cell’s share unit
Share display unit can be shares, k shares or m shares. It is independent of the monetary EURk/EURm setting. At k shares, entering 1 means 1,000 shares. Monetary equity value and currency/share use their own units. Holder details support comments; security details include voting/economic notes and comments. These notes are explanatory, not a rights engine.
Read summary, values and source context
The summary shows Outstanding Shares, Fully Diluted Shares and either value/share or FD uplift when no equity value is configured. Basic and FD ownership columns remain distinct. Choose an equity source only if value allocation is needed; a share ledger remains useful without it. Select a holder or security for Inspector details and Go to source for a linked valuation.
Continue to transaction or incentive analysis
After reconciliation, use Equity Transactions for issuance, funding, buyback, cancellation or transfer, and ESOP for managed awards. Pool-managed units are derived and cannot be edited again as ordinary holdings. Removing a security removes its holdings; review the effect rather than using removal as a substitute for a documented transaction.
