A range without a preferred center
Uniform gives equal density to equal-width intervals inside the range. It does not make the midpoint more likely than values near an endpoint. Use it when equal density is a deliberate modeling assumption, not merely because only a low and high estimate are available.
Synthetic amount range
An Absolute range of 80–120 EURk samples amounts in that interval and has an unbounded-by-additional-limits mean of 100 EURk. A Deviation range of −20 to +20 EURk instead adds to the source’s current value. If the current value changes, the deviation-mode absolute outcomes move with it.
Respect source restrictions
Optional absolute bounds intersect and condition the selected range. An empty intersection is invalid. For integer assumptions choose Discrete or Empirical whole-number outcomes; continuous Uniform is not a shortcut for integer selection. Compare Triangular when a most-likely value should receive greater weight.
