Methods and settings
| Method / input | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Enter / F2 | Begin supported cell editing; Enter also opens or expands a focused control where appropriate. |
| Tab / Shift+Tab | Commit a valid inline edit and move forward or backward. |
| Escape | Cancel the active inline edit or close the current supported selection surface. |
Finish or cancel explicitly
Enter confirms a valid inline value; Tab confirms and moves. Escape cancels the current edit. An invalid number remains in the editor with an error so it can be corrected. Numeric parsing follows the current language; use the displayed unit and local decimal convention. Do not assume a failed edit has been accepted because focus moved elsewhere.
Analyze selection has its own controls
In workspace-first Analyze selection, choose eligible marked sources and finish with Done or Escape. Search supports keyboard movement and Enter selection. Outside active text editing, supported Ctrl/Cmd+Z and redo shortcuts control financial history. Context matters: Escape can first close an open menu or selection surface rather than leave the entire model.
