A financial model translates assumptions about a business into a forecast. It brings together expectations about sales, costs, investment and financing so you can examine their financial consequences. Instead of treating a plan as one final number, you can see which inputs explain the result and what changes when those inputs move.
BalanceCheat gives you a working model in the browser. Start with an example to explore the connections, or enter figures for your own business. A useful forecast does not need to predict the future perfectly. It should make your assumptions clear enough to question, compare and revise as you learn more.
From simple assumptions to detailed modeling
Early in a plan, a few assumptions may be enough: how quickly revenue grows, how much it costs to deliver that revenue and what investment the business needs. This is a practical way to establish a starting point before spending time on detail that may not change the decision.
When a position deserves closer attention, you can model it in more detail within the same product. Separate business activities may have different drivers, and costs may follow a different pattern from sales. BalanceCheat supports both straightforward assumption-driven forecasting and detailed modeling of individual positions. Choose the level of detail that helps explain the business rather than adding complexity everywhere.
A complete connected financial model
An Income Statement shows how activity becomes profit. A Balance Sheet shows the assets supporting that activity and how they are financed. A Cash Flow Statement explains how operations, investment and financing change cash. Looking at the three together provides a fuller picture than an earnings forecast alone.
For example, sales growth can improve profit while customers take longer to pay. Equipment may require cash today while its cost is recognized over several years. The connected model helps you follow these consequences across statements. Begin with simple assumptions and add detail to selected positions while keeping the overall financial picture in view.
Why model in the browser?
A browser model is available when you want to explore an idea. There is no spreadsheet template to download or software to install before you can change an assumption and inspect the forecast. The interactive workspace makes it easy to revisit a question during budgeting, business planning or a discussion about performance.
BalanceCheat is free to use without an account or a demo call. Saved model data stays locally in your browser; it is not uploaded to our servers. You can keep up to five models in the local library and export individual models as files. Local storage is tied to the browser you use, so keep an exported copy when you need a portable record.
